Brian is the Business Development Manager and is responsible for “Food & Pharma” segments of A & L Canada Labs which includes cannabis, hemp, and food processing. After graduating from the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in Agricultural Business & Crop Production, Brian worked in the agricultural space for 25+ years and brings with him knowledge from advising growers on proper agronomy.
He managed one of the leading agricultural retail companies with locations spread across Ontario and was responsible for fertilizers, crop protection, seed, agronomy, precision agriculture and professional application services.
Brian was one of 30 people in the inaugural class of Certified Crop Advisors in Canada 25 years ago which is a voluntary professional enhancement certification program advising growers on agronomic practices that meet the program’s ethical and environmentally sustainable standards. He is involved in agriculture today supporting science and sustainability for future professionals advising growers on agronomy. He has been involved with many committees supporting agriculture including past chair of the Ontario Agri Business Association, the Great Lakes Watershed, and 4 R Nutrient Stewardship strategy in Ontario.
Brian works with licenced producers, food processing companies, micro, medical and personal growers across Canada to service their needs for analytical testing and agronomic information using the latest technologies for cannabis, hemp and greenhouse crops.

Karina is a Partner in Deloitte’s Risk Advisory Practice and oversees CCI Deloitte’s regulatory and compliance operations to provide end-to-end business solutions at every stage of the
cannabis business cycle including Licensing, Operational Compliance, Auditing, NHP, GMP implementation, Cultivation, Security and Business planning for the cannabis industry. Prior to the acquisition of Cannabis Compliance Inc (CCI) by Deloitte, Karina held the role of Vice President Quality and Regulatory at CCI from its inception in 2017.
Karina brings the skillset of navigating challenging regulatory pathways in new markets to the cannabis space. Prior to joining CCI Deloitte Karina came from a bio/pharmaceutical and medical device background where she held operational compliance, QA/QC and leadership
positions with Dalton Pharmaceutical Services, Contract Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Amorfix Life Sciences. Karina has worked on commercialization and regulatory path for over 150 products in
her time including being a member of the European Commission working group and co-author for the Decision Amending 2002/364/EC on common technical specifications for in vitro
diagnostic medical devices.
Karina holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from York University and B.Sc in Biochemistry from University of Guelph. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Chris began his QA career working as an internal quality systems consultant for Magna International. After Magna, he earned an MBA at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, while simultaneously launching his consulting practice, CJB Consulting Ltd. CJB began consulting in the design and deployment of ISO & GMP QMS systems in a wide variety of businesses and continues to do so today. The Isolocity software was launched in 2016 with the intent to eliminate all paper and labour with Quality compliance. Today Isolocity is used by businesses on every continent.
Chris has taken an active role in the North American E-Liquid ( vaping) industry. Helping coach and navigate businesses through ISO and GMP compliance to improve the overall
industry standard. Chris also chaired the NAVA initiative to publish the first E-Liquide GMP standard that has been proposed to Health Canada and the FDA. Isolocity was responsible for drafting this document.
Outside of work he enjoys playing golf, training for triathlons and playing epic barbie battles with his two little girls.

April Boudreau is a Client Relationship Manager with Research and Productivity Council (RPC) of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Dr. Brigitte Simons
Dr. Brigitte Simons is a quality professional in support of leading-edge cannabis product development,
laboratory services, and data management tools for the development of safe cannabis accessed globally.
Bridging expertise within chemistry, pharma drug development, and environmental testing – Brigitte has a
professional track record for laboratory quality control business development, analytical service
contracting excellence for the Canadian federal agencies, and global sales experience in high value trade
of laboratory services. Dr. Simons has working experience within the Canadian Food Inspection, Health
Canada, Agriculture Canada, and Environment Canada. She worked in Drug Toxicology and Analysis
Division at Health Canada in a laboratory setting to inform regulatory policy development for new drugs.
She completed post-doctoral fellowship at the Clinical Sciences Hospital of the National Heart, Blood & Lung Institute within the famous NIH campus in Maryland, USA. Continuing in lab specialities, Brigitte then joined SCIEX, a global instrumentation vendor for hardware and software for mass spectrometry.
With over 16 years experience with operating mass spectrometers, Brigitte managed Canadian federal
and provincial government sales for full laboratory services, covering clinical, forensics to product health
and environmental safety. Prior to working abroad, Brigitte received her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology at the
University of Ottawa and a Kellogg-Schulich M.B.A. in operational business strategy. Brigitte heads
quality and compliance management at BC Craft Supply Lab Services and other affiliated QA contracts
with licensed producers.

Kori Ainsworth is Director of Quality at 48North, a vertically integrated cannabis company focused on the health and wellness market through cultivation and extraction, as well as the creation of innovative, authentic brands for next-generation cannabis products. Kori has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry,
and her experience ranges from quality control and quality assurance in the food, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. She has held QAP and quality management positions in both the medical and recreational cannabis industries since 2015.
David Brown has been working in and reporting on the Canadian cannabis industry since 2012. Currently, he is the founder of StratCann, a cannabis media site highlighting the Canadian industry. Prior to that, David was a Senior Policy Advisor with Health Canada's cannabis branch, as well as one of the founding members of Lift Cannabis and Lift Cannabis News. David lives in BC with his family.
